Si morir ella de, 1973, from Gioconda. I had been listening to opera. I was not a singer at the time. I opened my mouth to try to make a sound like one of the records and out came this voice...which I have used ever since with some refinements and learned artistry.

This was Jerry's next to last Gurnemanz and it was a whale. He was almost 60. I remember the talk all over New York after this performance. It was so amazing.Jess Thomas was Parsifal for this performance. Hines' final Gurnemanz was in 1982
