Mike Curley has fast become recognized as one of the most unique singers and rhythm guitarists in recent history amongst his musical piers. Ironically starting his career as one of the original innovators of house music in his home town of Birmingham, UK, he played alongside other national acts of the time in England and Europe such as BBC radio one essential selection favorite Pete Gooding in some of the cities most celebrated bars & nightclubs of the era. Following a period with Hollywood & Maverick Records after the release of "Here For You" He later became known in Europe as principal singer/songwriter/guitarist for the Seattle based rock band Clever Bastards, writing two critically acclaimed studio albums and performing on some of the worlds finest stages with bands such as Foreigner, Reo Speedwagon and Styx, having played both major US outdoor venues such as the The Gorge and European Arenas'. More recently he has gained national attention in the Czech Republic having performed at the 2006 Andel Music Awards (Czech Grammy's) in the closing performance with British drumming legend Alan White (Plastic Ono Band, Yes) performing the John Lennon classic Imagine to over 5-million live tv viewers in the Czech Republic and central europe. One of his solo shows was syndicated in five separate countries to over 80,000 people gaining a recent contract to host the popular LiveInTheLounge on insomnia radio, recently voted by business week, as one the top three internet radio stations. With a driving guitar style described in the industry as Oasis meets Springsteen and post Ian Hunter vocals, if you love live music and have not yet had chance to experience Mike Curley live, I strongly recommend you do.
