Welcome to: 'Bill's Gin Mill'! :c) -------------------------- My faith isn't an agenda, it's a desire to be, who I was created to be. :c) I'm fully aware, that atheist's snicker, and consider foolish, my faith, as a Christian. I'm also keenly aware, that many 'use' religion, to get rich. Money and Power corrupts even well meaning soul's. Men, have 'used' religion, to start and fight war's, and for many self serving agenda's. --------------------------- For many, the Bible, is basically, a hand-book, for society. The strict constructionist's/fundamentalist's, often use the Ten Commandment's, to condemn, anyone they perceive, to be breaking them. It wasn't that long ago, that 'suspected' witches, were burned at the stake! Sadly, history often repeats itself... ------------------------- Jesus, brought us a NEW Commandment; John 13:34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. Matthew 9:13 But go and learn what this means: ' I DESIRE COMPASSION, AND NOT SACRIFICE,' for I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners. ------------------------- Believer's should take great care, in their consideration's of what is; 'Sound Doctrine,' and what is heresy! Jesus, did not give us; The 'Gospel of Convenient Christianity!' ------------------------- Some, might consider, it 'nice,' to believe in Santa, and its 'nice' to believe in God Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him. ------------------------ To me, God is more than a 'nice concept.' God, IS the spark behind the Big Bang! Whether HE said; "Bang," or, "Let There Be Light," the result is, what we know, of the Universe. I believe there is much, much more, about God's creation's, than we presently know. To my own satisfaction, I have determined, that God IS Love, and those serving Love, are serving God. Imagine, if God, The Father, and Jesus, The Son, didn't have compassion, for us... After Jesus spoke the words above, in; John 13:34, He said this: John 13:35 "By this, all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." ----------------------------- Matthew 24:24 "For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect." ----------------------------- In Spiritual battles, as in physical battles, things can get hazy and confused! Those, who remain committed to serving LOVE, will recognize those who do the same! They will not follow, the voice of another! :c) -------------------- James 1:21 "Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls." ----------------------------- In my mind, man, is very 'puffed up,' in 'his' estimation of 'his' abilities and intelligence. Consider what man has made. Now, consider what God has made! Physical things, decay, and pass away. Our soul's are spiritual. They return to the One, from whom they came. :c) My body's 'flesh and bones,' just like everyone else, and I certainly don't claim to be able to walk on water. In fact, I'd sink like a rock! I do desire, sincerely however, to serve LOVE/God, and will keep trying, even though I might stumble. If someone desires to be under, and judged by the Law, well, that's their business... Personally, I accept, and am truly thankful for, the sacrifice of My Savior, and His offer of mercy, compassion, and grace!
