Collins Omo, better known by his stage name Linzo was born September 21, 1985 in Benin City, in the hard streets of Edo State Nigeria. Influenced by local bands, Linzo began rapping at the age of ten on the rough neighborhood of Benin City. In 2002, Linzo migrated with his family to the U.S where he resided in Roxbury Mass.
While living there, he hooked up the group Naija Bury Dogz (NBDZ) which consisted of Jae Baz, Bscarz, E money and more. Linzo roll with the group, but was never a member. They hang around the streets of Boston until some members of the group moved out of Boston. Linzo never seriously perused a music career until 2005 when Linzo, Jae Baz, Trini, P. Dot and Obi performed at Linzo's 20th birthday party. On stage, Linzo realized is potential as a true artist.
Soon Jae Baz, P.Dot and Linzo formed the group Realm of the Slum (ROTS), but due to a family emergency, one of the group members, P.Dot had to migrate back home to Senegal. Trini was quickly added to the group as a replacement for P.Dot. As a member of the group, Linzo wrote all of his materials and was the financial backbone for the group. The group quickly rose to fame with their smash single "something got to give."
As time went on Linzo began to encounter problems with some of the members of the group, so he decided to leave in June 2006. Since his presence was greatly missed, he returned to the group December of that year. Unfortunately, one of the members of the group overcome with jealousy and resentment constantly tried to put down Linzo and suppress his talents. Unable to withstand the negativity, Linzo officially left the group January 2007 in order to peruse a solo career and focus on his education.
That same year Linzo opened his record label Hoodridaz Entertainment, with his record company he formed the group Hoodridaz which consist of himself, Yungson and Naija Nitemare. His first single, "How we Living," from "The Return of the Dead" mixtape featured Bscarz. The song received good reviews and many plays among the streets. He followed with hard core music such as "Dead or Alive" and "Act like you Know" putting all the freestyle rumor to rest.
With Lyrics that are both meaningful and fresh, Linzo's music captives the attention of both young and old people alike. In one of his records "Never Change," he speaks about the hard knock streets of Boston. Linzo has set himself apart from other Boston Rappers by not only focusing on music but also on his education. The importance of hard work is an integrate part of Linzo. Therefore, there is no doubt that Linzo will achieve his dream of becoming a successful Doctor.
In 2008, Linzo began recording his first solo album "Shadow," the album has the smash single "Freak" produced by P. of One Entertainment. "Shadow," is set to be release by the summer of 2008. With his new CD "Shadow," Linzo is now a prominent rapper and a force to be reckon with in the music World.
