Q. How does a school district like LAUSD deflate the "turning wheels" of an active group of parents who've received city wide attention concerning their quest for a safer and productive learning environment? A. They invite parents to a meeting for dialogue. Then the parents are separated into smaller manageable groups (committees) to eliminate the influence of a larger body. Each group is based on (titled after) the parents list of concerns. Now the school district can defuse the crisis using intimidating rhetoric and terminology at a more personable level. This method is so effective that the parents can now actually be blamed for the schools failure!
