It's still quite rough. They're looking better and better, but the sound is really starting to get on my nerves. Lots of feedback, no sustain, wolftones....barf. I'm planning on potting the piezos(to cut down on feedback) on future CBGs, and also using some sorta capacitor to cut back on the high tones. If I could find some sorta EQ under $10 I'd be open to using that...maybe I'll use tone controls as well. I've also switched over to using white cutting boards as stock to shape the bridge and nut. This works great and two big boards cost $7 at walmart. Much cheaper than $3 a nut at stewmac. I'm building #8 for an actual performing musician, so I'll have to come up with some way of getting the feedback down and the sustain up. I've recently made some full scale templates of the fret spacing using the giant printer at school, so that should help get the fret scale exact. #7 is mainly for decorative purposes, but on #8 I'm also going to stop tilting the headstock back. I'm gonna go to a more standard recessed headstock, like that of a strat. If anybody has any constructive feedback on my...ummm...feedback, I'm all ears. My only goal with all of this is that each guitar is better than the last.
