Just months after it opened, former Chiefs player Jared Allen's restaurant is closed. The restaurant opened after Allen finished his most successful season in the NFL, and the restaurant owners were banking on his popularity. Thursday, there was a sign on the door that said, "Sorry, we're closed. Thank you for your business." Allen did not invest in the restaurant, located at 700 Southwest Blvd., but he was paid for the use of his name. When Allen was traded to the Minnesota Vikings last month, he told KMBC that he thought the business would stay open and the ownership would just hook up with another Chiefs player. Apparently that didn't happen. KMBC was unable to contact the restaurant's owner for comment.
