Dad (K01) brings an orange fish (possibly a sheephead) to his West End nest on Catalina Island to feed his 2 month-old chicks. His mate, Wray, lets him know she'll feed their chicks, so he does his cute little hop/run and leaves. Though the chicks are still too young to feed themselves, the old chick (Miracle) is beginning to get curious and pecks at the fish a little before Mom picks it up and carries it to the side of the nest to feed both of them. These eaglets are part of the ongoing restoration project by IWS. You can read about the struggle to reintroduce America's symbol, the Bald Eagle, to the Channel Islands as well as watch this miracle of nature via live eagle-cam by going to http://www.iws.org and clicking first on 'interactive' and then choosing one of the nests to view on Catalina Island and Santa Cruz Island or go to: http://z7.invisionfree.com/CHIL_EagleCAM/index.php?act=idx
