JOURNEY (first of three movements) - Choreography by Salvatore Aiello - Performed by Terpsicorps Theatre of Dance - Staged by Timothy Rhinehart Yeager - Music by Malcolm Arnold, Concerto for Organ and Orchestra, Opus 47 - Original Lighting Design by Nick Cernovich, Re-created by Erik McDaniel - Costumes by Doreen Macdonald Jon Upleger Addul Manzano, Christopher Bandy, Jeremy Bannon-Neches, Christopher Pennix, Christopher Stuart, David Tlaiye, Randolph Ward, Joseph Watson "Journey, created in 1979, was my first choreography for a professional company. Personally, the ballet represents my transition from dancer to administrative duties and signaled the end of my dance career. The enormous success and critical acclaim which "Journey" received gave me the courage to continue as a choreographer. The work pays tribute to the strength, vitality and physical virtuosity of the male dancer. Choreographically, the ballet suggests abstractly, visions of traveling on land, sea and sky." --Salvatore Aiello This performance of Journey, June 26, 2008, was presented in accordance with The Salvatore Aiello Trust, Jerri Kumery, Curator. © 1979, The Salvatore Aiello Trust Premiered by the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Winnipeg, Manitoba, May 2, 1979.
