PLUMB BLOSSOMS - Myohoji temple was founded in 1352 as the Nichiren buddhism sect temple. During year (1573-92) Shinshige Mamiya had encouraged to plant many plum trees since then this area was known as Sugita's plum grove. 妙法寺（横浜市磯子区）1352年(文和元)に創建された日蓮宗の寺で、旧領主・間宮家累代の墓碑がある。この地は天正年間(1573～92)、領主の間宮信繁が梅の植樹を奨励し、以来杉田の梅林として知られた。 http://www.rurubu.com/sight/sightdetail.asp?BookID=B1702690
