One of Agit-Pop's submissions to MoveOn's Obama-in-30-Seconds contest. A farm house at night, buffeted by wind, its flag at half-mast stands as an allegory for America's long dark night of the soul under Bush and an era of cynical and divisive politics. The husband and wife of the house are turned off by the partisan bickering on TV, until Obama's voice breaks through, calling them to find that reservoir of hope and decency inside themselves. "It's up to each one of us, isn't it?" say the expressions on their faces as they look at one other. They rise and, as dawn breaks, raise the flag to full mast, symbolically reclaiming the promise of America. That's the idea at least.
