Issued in Canada June 1971 on Columbia C4-2980. The Magic Bubble were from Hamilton, Ontario. The group was founded by siblings Frank and Rita Rondell (vocals), with Paul Benton (organ, piano), Brian Kirkwood (bass), K. Wade Brown (guitars), and Sonny J. Milne (drums). They made one self-titled album for Columbia in 1970. "I'm Alive" was their first single. Two others followed in 1971, none of which made the RPM charts. I heard this one on 1280 CHAM, Hamilton, so it did get some airplay. After The Magic Bubble, and a period with Battle Axe, Rita Rondell spent some years in Italy, and returned to Canada and became famous as blues guitarist Rita Chiarelli. I apologize in advance if the quality of this record isn't up to my usual standards. It sounded like it was played repeatedly with a broken nail. But I've managed to remove most of that noise. Some remnants of vinyl damage remained, but they have been minimized. Edited to add: I just saw a copy of their album going for $200!
