The FIRST in the series of "Summer Fever" ID Bumpers for Channel 7 in Brisbane. Check out the Brisbane Skyline in the Opener. Launched in late November 1978, at the beginning of the tradiitonal "Silly Season" non ratings period of Summer.. the promo let viewers know it wasn't time to turn off but in fact to turn on. Bowen Hills based Jumbuck Productions teamed up with 7 to produce this evolving series of promos that began at a time when traditionally there was no fanfare .. the off ratings period... and certainly the visuals.. were a mighty contrast to the conservative Joh Bjelke Peterson Queensland of the late 1970s. Queensland at its BEST.. Lazy days by the Pool.. Beach Babes.. Disco Groovin nights.. havin FUN in the Sun and the good ole 5 and 2 !! Together with that catchy Disco tune.. it was an amazing and original campaign. BRAVO Brizzie !! CHECK OUT: The old fella in King George Square givng the Camera a reverse "V" for Victory finger that could easily be misinterpreted today as.. well you know what. Channel 7 in Sydney also ran the campaign with its own visuals of the Harbour City. APOLOGIES: For the crackly condition of the original 16mm film but that's how it actually went to air. This was retrived from an old betamax tape.
